The Seismological Society of America is an international scientific society devoted to the advancement of seismology and the understanding of earthquakes for the benefit of society. Founded in 1906, the society has members throughout the world representing seismologists and other geophysicists, geologists, engineers, insurers, and policy-makers in preparedness and safety.
I was commissioned to design a brochure that could be handed out to the general public at conferences, lectures, and events. This small, portable brochure shares the SSA’s mission and reinforce its brand by demonstrating its key roles, impact, and scope in a friendly and accessible manner to the reader.
An interesting fold is used that lets the piece function in two uses:
1) A clear and interesting brochure when viewed in it’s folded format;
2) When unfolded fully, it can be hung as a small wall poster that promotes seismology and the SSA.
